If I do intense PT I should be good to go in 3-4weeks def not as bad as I thought.

still sucks and this just ads another brace to my riding attire BUT, I can still ride this season...probably no jumps til spring though...oh well cab 5's will have to wait.

FUCKED MY SHIT UP...

So, I went to the trampoline house again tonight for my friend Ryan's birthday...within my first four jumps - i was down.
My ankle was burning and all I wanted ti do was scream.

Looked down at my ankle that I couldn't move and crawled off the tramp.
As of right now its pins and needles on the top of my foot, I can't pull it up but I can wiggle all my toes, and there two gash like marks around my ankle that look like the skin was pulled apart...but there's no blood.

Conveniently, i leave at 11am today go home to Palm Springs and the coming Friday I'm supposed to drive back to Mammoth.
All this may change now that i am unable to walk.

I didn't go to the hospital because i have no insurance. I'm waiting to go when I get home.

Both my Mom and I know this is pretty bad due to the fact and way I was crying.
A. I never cry
B. if I do its only after a long time and due to the fact that i can't ride

So, the fact that i was balling on the phone from the pain...not good.
My mom even said, "Missy, you've never cried like this." I told her I know and I'm just really scared - which I am.
This is going to jeopardize my whole season, my job, my living situation...everything.
Not only am I ultimately fucking up my deal, but Brooke, Nolan, and Daryl might have to find another person to live in the house super last min. Hopefully, if that turns out to be the case, Josh will still be looking for a place and would want to take it over.

I cant sleep and the Advil just isn't doing the job. Kumara had told me, "Everything happens for a reason, God loves me, and I'm going to be ok." I told her, "perhaps this is what I get for not going to church in a long while." we shared a laugh and then I was once again focused on the pain. As i was laying on the floor elevating my ankle on a chair, I began to think about what Kumara had told me...perhaps this was all for a reason. for example; I will now have a reason to sit and make my resume for that ESPN snowboard blogger position EPIC. Also, it will give me all the time i need to make an awesome audition video for The Real World.
Whatever this "reason" maybe...it blows ass since it keeps me from riding.

i think the swelling has gone down just a bit over the past few hours, but it's still sore to the touch and I can't pull my foot up...the worst part is the pins and needles on the top of my foot - that is what's concerning me the most.

I'm pretty sure that I've torn some ligaments which in recent experience (right knee ACL and right Shoulder ACL) just sucks. If anything, hopefully I'll only be out for a couple months...I think I could handle that but anything more... I might as well just stay the fuck home in the desert.

I'm going to try and find a comfortable position again and see if sleeping sets in. Most likely wont, but i cant try.

I know I know I know.... It's been FOREVER since my last post. I'm SORRY, but if you could see the amount of stress I've been under trying to figure all my packing and shipping and working at the showroom and hanging out with people before i leave and lunch dates and dinner dates and potlucks and Blond-o-Meal parties and birthday parties and getting my costume ready and trying to remember to not be late for my flight and taking my cousin to his flight and a MILLION other things...well...you would understand.

Luckily, good ole Louie Vito, who sadly got voted off Dancing With the Stars tonight, said this...

Seriously thought i've been busy out of my mind.

POST BURTON B PREMIER

So, having already seen the video - i knew what to expect and the whole IMAX deal was cool. It was like we were all on a field trip. There were goody bags and some of the team riders were there to give out some rad prizes. The video is a bit short but over alllllll the riders parts are decent and the big banger ender, it was my favorite part, was pretty rad. Everybody is gonna hate and be like that video was stupid blah blah blah Shaun White this blah blah. Yeah, he had a ridiculous(in a not so good way) part, but it's SW...what else do you expect. So anyways, i liked the video but the after party at Ozzies was where the REAL fun was had...

one word.

KARAOKE

I'm just gonna come out and say probably the best four performances of my Karaoke career.
Kumara and I performed such hits as:

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
and
Walk Like an Egyptian - The Bengals

Needless to say I'm pretty sure Kumara and I out Karaoke'd Mason and others...despite the claim of karaoke masters.

but you can still get the jist of how good the night was.

HOW THE NORTHWEST WAS ONE PREMIER

OK so seriously one of the funnest premiers I've been to in a while.
The video was EPIC and on tip of it the environment had high fives and good vibes flowing throughout.
The show was held at Evo and packed full with at least 100 people supporting each and every rider in the video. Cheering and woo-hooing for every rider throughout the whole film was awesome. The feeling was just amptness on top of stokedness. Just being in the jam packed shop - you couldn't help but wanna strap in right there.

The video had an obvious western theme. Kinda like how Familia had the mafia deal - these NW boys were cowboys. The boys couldn't have been more pumped. All little boys grow up pretending to be cowboys and now they're all in a video together being cowboys AND snowboarding. BAM. 2 birds 1 video. You could tell they had fun making it and we all had a blast watching it. Big up to my friend Joe Bosler who had the big ender. Stoked for him.

The night over all was awesome i was stoked to see some people and even more stoked to hangout with them for the remainder of the night. I'm going to miss Seattle more than i thought i would. it's a shame i love Mammoth so much...mid season trip? I think so.

So Chris, whom the paintings are for, finally came and picked them up last night. I was holding off on posting them so that he wouldn't get a sneak peak. Now that they're off my living room floor and on his living room wall, I can share with you one of my favorite pieces I've done in a while.

It's a series of three pieces on 24"x36" canvas spray paint and acrylic

It was like i was 15 and giving my child up for adoption...almost brought tears to my eyes while placing them in the back seat of Chris's car...but i had my real baby inside waiting for me aka new G-Twin setup.
Trades are SO GOOD.

So i just finished watching STANCE, the all girls snowboarding vid. Man oh man are these girls steppin it up for woman snowboarding. they make me proud to have a vagina and ride a snowboard.
these girls are killing it with the back country shots and the huge drops. Not to mention uppin the annie in the park section.

im glad they're fine but it still erks me to know that someone came into my moms house and took stuff that she works so hard for

i begged her not to live in Indio-scum bucket of a town.

THINK THANK " Cool Story" PREMIER

So up here in WA Think Thank is the local hoo-ra. Don't blame'em - these guys are rad. They have some of the most progressive riders in the biz and all conveniently located here in the greater Seattle area. Jesse Burtner, founder and owner of Think Thank as expected did it again with his sixth video.

It was based on a time line of last season and all the riders shared a different, their part, of the story. I thought it was really fun the way it was laid out. The riding. The traveling and definitely the music all really rad but just like Videograss...a tad long? i dunno maybe I'm just getting old who knows. Go check it out if it comes to a town near you. VIDEOGRASS & AIR BLASTER PREMIER

made it out last night to Havana's where the Videograss and new Air Blaster video's were to premier. Besides it being cold for once at night, the Drive- In movie setup was pretty rad. couches, lawn chairs and a big wall to project on? sweetness.
they played the Air Blaster film first to get us all pumped and ready. Man oh man - i don't think I've laughed so hard during a snow vid since the special features in LAME. so good. those boys went all over. NC, Tokyo, Japan just havin all sorts of fun. the feel of the video was like something you would make with your krew on your home mtn. the commentary was all just convo of how they enjoy riding with each other. it was a sweet video - I'll def be downloading it for free soon...plus that asian guy? " i like cream of young boy?" fuck me - so good.

might I mention that before the video, after the video, and then after the second video...RAFFLE!
tons of stuff was gettin raffled off. i think like 3 boards boots bindings tons of beanies headphones everything - you name it - even free beer.

on to Videograss. i honestly don't really remember much of if it due tot he fact that i was freezing..
but fer real...the riders were good i think some of the parts were a little long. the video itself felt longer than the avg. snow vid. but it was good

BLACK WINTER PREMIER

just realized i never posted my review for Black Winter...from like 3 weeks ago...
my bad

here it is:

I got the chance to catch Black Winter by Standard Films on Friday at the King Cat Theater in Seattle. The film was good, but the venue was not really prepared for the sold out crowd unless you are into being crammed like sardines into a tin can. Throw in booze and Red Bull to complete the whole fiasco and you will begin to get an idea of what they were calling a "lobby."

As far for the video, right from the intro it made you feel like you were about to call the first drop of the season. They opened with Torstenin Horgmo and Andreas Wiig who both had epic parts and enders came courtesy of Eric Jackson and Mark Landvick. To round out the whole thing were parts from Chas Guldemond, Leanne Pelosi, and Lonnie Kauk as well as some solid offerings from newer riders like Jason Dubois, Halldor Hellgasson, and Seb Toots. Also special shout out to Seb for deciding to rock a helmet in a major video part. Which is something you don't see nearly enough of.

Overall, I'd have to rate Horgmo and Wiig's parts as the crem de la crem of the whole thing. Both of them are just too good at snowboarding not to mention they probably had the best song picks of the whole video.

The heli shots, soundtrack, and rider commentary were all on point and the video was on par with what you have probably come to expect from Standard.

For those of you who don't know, i make beanies and last summer i started at my attempts to produce a brand..a name for myself. Not as easy as it seems. I had the product( my aunt and i made 70 beanies over the summer) but i had no GOOD way of selling them other by word of mouth. So i brought them to Mammoth and sold a few there but really just used them for trade. so as the season rolled on the idea somewhat rolled away.
Conveniently this summer,my friend Sebastian, Basti, reminded me of his clothing company called Yallentins. long story short - Basti is now selling the beanies.
i finished his order of 20 a week or so ago with help to my aunts speedy hands.
They were shipped out the same day they arrived to me and should be in Basti's possession hopefully by early next week. In the meantime he's posted up the sample ones i sent to him.

NEVERLAND by Absinthe Films PREMIER

Premiers are always fun. This one was no different. The theater was cool and the fact that they didn't have a lobby to kick it in was merely a fly on the wall thanks to Linda's down the block. The pre and the after party was held at this classy joint and if you've ever been to a snowboard premier - you know what goes down.

Well, to start...MEEEEETHOD MANIAAAAA!!!! The intro is a huge montage of epic Methods...it was sweet.
The video itself was good. @peetard and I agree that it was a little long but that Keegan's fence bit and that huge cone lookin' thing were rad. I was stoked to see Annie B. and Marie F. Roy KILLING IT for the ladies. SO pumped to see lady riders out there along side the guys taking huge drops and amazing BC lines. Dan Brisse - rooftop to rooftop gap...need i say more? He also had a sweet rail transfer along with some crazy corked out spins.
One of my favorite riders since i started, Mr. Gigi Ruff. love this guys style. It's so ...pretty? i dunno the guy kills it on a board and this video proved no diff.

Last but certainly not least. I thought I would save the best, and by best i mean funniest, for last.
That's right, Travis Rice himself rode up on a white steed of majesty complete with fur hat. Not only was his entrance great but throughout his part he rocked this American flag jacket...represent brother...represent...
His riding...well its fuckin T.Rice...im pretty sure after last season. I no longer go "snowboarding" I go T.Rice-ing...

So the night was fun the vid was good and i even got a few goodies at the end.Annie Boulanger, myself, forgot his name..., Wolfgang Nyvelt

Next door is Roq La Rue is what really brought me back to wither of these galleries. I saw these eerie, ghostly, 18th century photograph looking pieces. Being a fan of all that's ghoulish, my face was plastered against the glass at first sight. I its like a mix of what you would see at The Haunted Mansion and a circus sideshow which means instant love to me. His name is Travis Louie aka amazing.

Another one of my favorite artists, Mark Rayden, also had some his amazing work hanging on the brilliantly white walls.

ART FOR GEAR=BEST TRADE EVER

life as a snowboarder, as glorified as it may be, is not cheap and is financially outstanding compared to the majority that call it life.
we hardly work and if we do it's only for six months or less during the summer therefore we're always broke. yet, we somehow afford and find money to get new gear, passes, housing, food, and travel all over just to get our shred on in other places.
how it all comes to work, after 13yrs, i still do not know.
but nonetheless, we make it work.

I've recently come to find that art is a really good form of currency. and if you're good at it-even better.
last season my form of art was shaking my butt. it landed me new boots, outerwear, and bindings.
this season, it turns out to be my actual painting skills. who knew.
a friend of mine, Mr. Chris Zimmerman, happen to like some of my art. he asked for some and of course i replied, "what do i get?" conveniently, he's a rep for Burton. he asked what i would want and i told him I'm in dire need of a new board and the Burton G-Twin just so happens to be my board of choice.
so we discussed what sort of paintings he would want i instantly had a few idea's in my head. we then discussed my "payment". decided i would be getting the 146 G-Twin and the Molotov bindings.
stoked.

so yesterday i went down to the Burton showroom like 5 blocks from my apt. and we got it all setup. i don't have to tell any of you how excited my heart got setting up my new shred baby...i know you're all familiar.

Brooke and I stayed at the Forum Mansion with him when he was in mammoth for this past seasons WCI. The hot tubs on the balcony had a color changing light...we were in it till the sun came up...walking home in a wet bra is no fun...but the memories were unforgettable.

Living right across the street from the Seattle Center means i have the easiest access to Bumbershoot along with with Skip getting us tickets from work, go Skip.

we just walked back from seeing Katy Perry. Needles to say i was stoked and Skip was not...that would soon change. With the body of a sex kitten and the mouth of a sailor, Skip would soon find out that Katy is the girl of his dreams.

i already knew she was awesome which was why i was SO stoked when he said he got us in.

HAPPY HOURS-HAPPY DAYS

after spending the morning in Issaquah i started the night by going to EVO's HAPPY HOUR and hanging out with some old friends and making some new ones. Usually being the only sober one amongst the group i end up driving a couple friends home. Doing so, i always have the pleasure of seeing them the next morning to return their cars. Last night was no different. I took Molly and Chris home with Molly's car and kept the car over night and this morning went and picked up Chris to take him to his car @ Evo. After, we grabbed some coffee and tea before meeting up with Molly for lunch.

We had lunch at this neat little Italian place and had some super good paninis and talked about some new work that is going to be done on and to the blog. (ooooh ahhhhhh)

After lunch Molly used me as a model for the new Tom's Shoes that they just got into the shop. The pictures on the site check the link for a look see. While in the shop i decided that i need/want to treat myself to some new clothes. not finding anything i REALLY liked, Chris and i decided to bail and headed to Golden Gardens for a stroll along the "beach". it makes me chuckle a little bit every time they call it a beach but oh well - I'll let you seattlites keep what "beach" you have. snapped this pic on our way out
After Golden Gardens, Chris decided to play a bit of a tour guide I guess you could say and took us downtown. we went a meandered around going into the glass blowing place and watching people play with molten mag-ga-ma. i found these and I want.
after the glass shop we went to the shopping district where i picked up this new shirt
I'm gonna go back tomorrow and get it in teal also. love this thing. H&M is rad for cheap shit like this.

all in all it was an eventful day compared to most I've had here in Seattle so far.
had a great time
new friends are always fun
and Chris wants some custom art...so that will be fun.

i was lucky enough to have gotten hooked up with Bonfire gear last season.
it fit well, had good cuts, and surprisingly let me find that light pink fit me pretty well on the hill.
to say the least i loved it and would definitely sport it again - given the chance to shake my butt for more free gear.

so now as they announce that they're going to have boots this season... I'm thinking i may just have to give these a try and push my oh so comfy Celsius aside.

So my Mom just had a chunk of her cheek, alongside her nose, removed because it was cancerous.
my whole family grew up tanning in the sun. So, of course, I'm no different. I can't tell you how many gallons of tanning oil my sin has soaked up in my lifetime - probably too much.

But seeing as a close family friend is now undergoing Chemo Therapy after having intense Melanoma...multiple family members went to the doc to have a looks see if they're good and clear.
My mom was the only one who had anything intense done, but she's done her two surgeries and is recooping just fine...i think I'll call her Bride of Frankenstein for a while though, i mean with 28 stitches...she earned it.

got new paint pens, canvas, and yarn to fill the beanie order - yay

MAGOON COMA UPDATE

Lucas Magoon is in “serious condition, but stable” in the ICU of Renow Health Hospital in Reno after a fall skating. The folks at Boardistan did their reserch and found out he is NOT in an induced coma as was previously reported on Twitter. Lucas is not only a great kid and amazing snowboarder, but the richest man in Rutland! If we prayed, our prayers would go out to Lucas. Get well soon buddy!

Update: 9:00 PM Aug. 13, word from Lane Knaack is that prognosis for Lucas is good. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Update from EStone: 9:21 PM. Hey Everyone I just got off the phone with Lucas’s nurse. He is not in a coma. They are keeping him heavily sedated to minimize the chance that he will move around and cause his brain to start bleeding again. The bleeding has stopped and the swelling is going down. They will try to take him off the ventilator in the morning and bring him out of his lucid state. Lets all pray for him tonight.

Update: 11:10 am, Aug. 14. Lucas is awake and off the ventilator. Friends say he is “awake and confused.” He is still in the ICU and under constant watch, but is doing much better.

Update: 3:27 pm, Aug 14 from E Stone: I just got a very positive update from one of Goon’s friends at the hospital. He is awake and is showing his classic Gooner personality. He has a long way to go but is on the path to recovery. For anyone who does not know it was a skateboarding accident. Pending his insurance situation we might be hitting you all up for a donation. Thanks for all the positive Vibes.

so i came to the cafe last night and i couldn't get a table with a plug so my battery died after about 20 min which sucked
and i didn't bring my journal for whatever reason
so i was left with a cookie bag in my purse from a week ago and a pink pen

so i pretty much slacked it all summer while i was living the life up in Encinitas

I've done my 2ND migration this summer - this time to the great NW
that's right I'm back in Seattle
living the dream up here...with the clouds, hills, and oddly dressed people.

ha why HELLO SEATTLE...

so anyways
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be spending my whole summer on couches
seeing as i was on a horrible futon in SD and now I'm on a super nice Ikea couch at my cousins...no beds in the mix.

so along with not working and being like a part-time nanny while I'm up here
I'm taking on an apprenticeship under my cousin and learning the ways of Fine Street Art...otherwise known as "graffiti"

so this should consume a large amount of my time seeing as I'm a slight perfectionist and i don't like to "not be good" at something
so when i do get to the point where I'm doing my first throw up - i want it to be a bomber fer sher.

also I'm gonna try and start doing what i do for all of you folks who i think read this for SnowboarderMag....

Seattle is a prime spot for pre-season festivities so hopefully i can write the partial sentences that flow from my fingertips for someone who has an audience.

I'll keep you all posted on that
I'm hoping i can get the proposal letter out of my head, into an email, and the send button it pressed before the end of the week...we shall see.

Ok so I love brooke and avery to death I really do but I swear sometimes its like I don't even exist

mountain closes on Sunday
we move down to Encinitas tomorrow
...
its been good...real good.

the seasons tarted out a bit bumpy but soon mellowed out
few rocks were thrown in here and there but I'm solid and crushed them senseless like that rock guy from never ending story...

Brooke's been probably the best roommate/friend/mom/shoulder/interpreter/food maker/yell-fest coordinator/cuddle partner(no homo)/slash defender any snow bum could ask for

i think our coming together as a duo has def made this season epic one
from our video chats while sitting next to each other
to our our new age whisper marathons via AIM...

besides all that I'd say 114 days maybe 115 of riding is a pretty good number to finish the last 8 months off with

weeks full of new tricks
free gear
free food
and free memories some good, some bad - still free so I'll take'em

its moments like this when i realize that even though i may not have the million dollar education my family wished they could afford for me
and I'm not wearing a suit and driving my nice car to the office

I've been doing what I've always wanted to do
snowboard

and i get paid
and I'm a professional at it
my job permits and encourages me to travel

most of my friends are just graduating (congrats)
or getting married
or having kids

and yeah at times i fee like my life is lagging but then i think about what I've always said
"you all have had to go through 4+ extra years to get to a point where you can possible start doing what you want. I've been doing what I've wanted to do for the last 13 years, and all i have to do to do it is wake up, gear up, and go to the hill..."

I'm thankful for the friends I've made and the friends I've gotten to know better
i have no regrets but I'm saddened by the people who chose to end friendships.

Brooke, Avery, Eric and I are moving to Encinitas tomorrow
I'm sure, nay, positive the summer there with the four of us will be only a few notches down on the epic scale from this season.

So today is prom and the arcnd to last day in our place I'm still in bed gettng a huge headache from the insence Brooke lit downstairs while she makes heaps of unrecognizable rukus
I have. Just my bathroom to clean and my bedding to pack
I would say this is the fastest and most organized move I have ever done

The two of us will be moving back down south to Encinitas in just over a week with Avery and Eric were stoked I know I am
I can't wait to live at tge beach and just bum it down there all day and with the 4 of us who knows what chaos we'll create its gonna be a good time

they're playing their expected roles of nervous mom and protective dad very well.

i passed my Level 2 exam and can now teach in New Zealand
stoked on that
i was sure i as going to fail - but actually passed above level 2 standard
my examiner, Jeb, told me in my review i was teaching at a level 3 standard
so that makes me feel a little better about taking my level 3 next season
along with that I'll be taking my Freestyle 1 so that i can teach park

aaaaaaand with that maybe I'll get a job at HCSC up at Hood or maybe even in NZ...we shall see

WOW is all i can say about that...found our Scotty Arnold has a bit of a thing for me...

trying to figure out where were staying and for how long and what the itinerary once we get there is
we know the girls are stoked for us to come and have plenty of things for us to do

I'm actually at work right now - its dead we've done 4 transactions in the past three and a half hours and we're closing an hour early

So I'm sittin on the sundeck watching my friends ride as I take a day off to recoop the knee. Its been a trooper throughout the majority of the season - all the ski school and pow days I've put on it just sucks that now when the sun is out and the snow is soft it hoeas out after only 4 hours a day and can't go more than 4 days in a row before filling up with fluid oh well I guess summer is around the corner and with plans to go to Denmark I'm sure all the walking might do it some good

Brooke and I are really excited to see all our Danish boys in their own land ha they're crazy here in mammoth so there's no telling what they are like at home. I know Brooke will be stoked to see Mikkel again and I'm hoping to see Soren again but if not my long distance pact husband Basti will be in Germany gist below us waiting ha ha - I'm an international hustler if you didn already know - field is full time to stp

so Eagle Lodge and Canyon Lodge close tomorrow for the season
my last scheduled day of work was today - which means i get to ride South Park the last day its open - thank god

the season i think has been good up to this point
brooke and i are keeping it a duo routine through most of the summer
the lease is up at the end of may and we're planning to go to Denmark to hangout with our new found friends sometime mid July

were both pretty stoked to travel

when we get back im planning on moving back to Seattle til November then coming back here

a pretty pretty summer thus far

my teaching portion of my Level Two is in about a week
i still need to write down my progression and finish my written exam
i think i'll find sometime to do it while im in LA next week?
i'm starting to think i shouldn't go
i mean thats crucial riding time and i really need to get this all done but i wanna bring some stuff down south - and go to the big employee party on monday.... decisions

Brooke and i are now trying to figure out what we'll being doing for the summer since we dont want to go home
talk of moving back to Seattle has been up in the air for me

also friends want us to go to Norway to visit them

met and became really good friends with all the danish boys

oh brooke was in and out of the hospital for multiple reasons
most serious being a bleeding ulzer
that she wasnt alowed to drink for a month from
i think that killed her more than the ulzer
but she's caught up to the month that she lost
and i honestly worry, like any good friend would, when she's gonna push it too far.

so today is the first day of a predicted week long ordeal'

I'm stoked

new snow and i finally get to move into my house on Tuesday

Brooke comes into town in 3 days

and i cannot wait

i feel like Tammie and i have been here forever and been on the most uncomfortable futon ever

don't get me wrong

i thank Luc, Matt, and Julian grips for letting us crash for like 3 weeks

but i am SO ready to be in my own space

but on to more Snow related chitter chatter

i feel like i have progressed more in the last month of riding than i had all last season

its going great

being pushed by friends and just having nothing else really to worry about

it's nice

that's really all i have time for atm so hopefully i'll get more stuff to blabber on about

thanksgiving was amazing - my first turkey was picture

also i now have 30 days racked up of continuous riding

the snow is good - its been pretty comparable to last springs conditions

employee dinners start on monday and hopefully eagle opens soon so i can start working and making money

im trying to blog more but as we dont have internet and im only on here because i ran out of underwear and am doing laundry at a friends house.

so i've been back in mammoth for about a week now and im stoked out of my mind

3days in we get DUMPED on

and Tammie and i got the best freshies of our lives

untouched amazing 10 turn untouched tracks

and the park gets better everyday somethin new is up every morning

this season is just on the right track to be nothin short of epic

then last night we went to Mason Aquirre's 21st birthday party whic was SO fun

so i miss mammoth...i miss snow...i miss riding more than i think i ever have before
I'm done with the heat of my home land aka Hell and I'm done with the shittyness of the economy and my jobs. i have two and yet still have no income and no hours and my money is getting less and less as i type this...amazing...

in church last week the msg i got was simply " i do not have because i do not ask" i feel kind of dumb asking God for money, a car, a home in mammoth, and enough sufficient funds to get me up and back to Canada multiple times and everything i would need to get to and from Australia next summer

that's quite a bit for one to ask from someone they've hardly spoken to in the last couple of years and in the last year has questioned more than ever...

but i still "do not have because i do not ask"
another reason i think i don't ask is because I'm afraid the answer will be no

just like a child
don't ask-don't get the answer you don't want.

what I'm supposed to do i don't know
I'm taking a job i know I'm gonna hate and I'm toughin' it out through three more months of hell

luckily I've found someone to keep me company along the way and to give me drive to get the shit that i need to done. so i can get to Canada and mammoth quicker.
hopefully the 3 months i have left will go as quick as the 7 in mammoth last season did and I'll be strapping in sooner that later.

4 men's models and 3 women models...

I'm somewhat torn on if I'm hyped or not

i mean i like the Nike SB's

but that's skating - i don't skate - so whatever Nike does in that industry let the skate scene deal. this is snowboarding

Nike couldn't be further from their home turf. now i understand that the usual style Nike appeals to has merged its way into snowboarding and these will prolly be a huge hit among the "thugs" on the hill...but really?

watching your show over the past few years - i get the feeling you're one for a sappy tear-jerking story's...

lets see how mine does haha

im twenty-one years old and i have never met my Father...

until about 2 days ago.

my cousin Kelly and i sought to find him and did just that.
all i had was a letter he'd sent me maybe 4years back that i never replied to because i was to scared.
so we started by calling the number he'd given me - it was no longer his.
and the same story for the address.
all we had was the town we thought he might still be in - Harrisburg, PA.
we started out Monday afternoon by going to People Search on yahoo
and just going to numerous different sites seeing how many Joseph M. Lombardi's we could find who lived in PA.
we ended up buying some information for a "deal" $2.95
haha
in this we found a Verna, Gayle, and Ron Lombardi.
his mother Verna, Sister Gayle, and brother Ron.
we thought this was it!
all numbers were no longer in service

we knew Gayle was married - so we looked her up under her married name.
someone picked up -oh my god we're getting somewhere

it was her ex husband, Del
they'd since divorced and she went back to her maiden name.

he gave us her number - which we told him didn't work.
he told us if he gets a hold of her he'd let her know we were looking to speak with her soon.
he also told us that my Dad has two other brothers
so he gave us Fred's number.
called him and got a hold of his wife Caroline - who at first was a bit hesitant of giving us any information but had told us that Joe was no longer in PA but had moved to FL with his other brother Ron.

she also told us she and Fred don't often hear from Joe but the next time she spoke with him she would let him now we were waiting for a call.

this was all after about 3 days of searching and calling. calling random joe's that we figured there was no harm in calling and seeing if he was my dad haha.

that day (Wednesday)after speaking with Caroline, Kelly had left the house for a bit and i was at work waiting for Kelly's next update.
around 3pm i get a call from Kelly, " are you off yet? when do you get off? call me when you get off. DONT FORGET!"

i sped to her house.
when i got there - she played a message on the machine.

it was my dad
holding back tears as he tried to give his phone number to call him back
told us to call him back as soon as possible
and again said his number - tears making it hard for him to say the last few digits.

at the sound of his voice i broke down in tears
i couldn't believe i had finally found him
my dad - Joseph M. Lombardi
my other 50% to my being 100% Italian!
ha

i waited for my voice to stop shaking and said, "ok, lets do this."
i called him and Kelly listened in on another phone - so i wouldn't have to try and repeat everything to her later

we talked for an hour and a half

mostly
"i cant believe i'm taking to my daughter"
"i cant believe i found my dad"
all the emotional words you can think of were said drenched in happy happy tears.

i'd found out that he was now living in Saratoga, FL and had been looking for me for a good 7yrs but had hit so many dead ends it hurt too much to search anymore.
he said he couldn't take getting calls back from psycho's saying, "yeah we have your daughter - send $500 for a plane ticket."

so pretty much
we're both stoked on life
he has his daughter
i have my dad
our lives can be complete - everything else is now.... just a bonus.

having this feeling honestly as cliche' as it may sound - i just want to let the world know and shoud it from the heavens.

but since i can make it to the heavens at the moment,thank god, i figured you would be the next best place to go.

after three days of searching the web and buying phone numbers and address's for 2.95

calling people I'm related to but have never met

and waiting..lots of waiting...

I've found my Dad

my cousin Kelly and i had been looking for the past three days

we ended up finding him buy calling his sisters ex husband who informed us he had two older brothers we were unaware f and that he was in FL with one of them

Del called Fred, one of the brothers, and talked with Caroline his wife and Caroline was a bit hesitant of giving us information but said the next time she hears from Joe she'd give him our number.

Kelly then left for a bit and when she returned had a msg on her answering machine from Joe

he couldn't even finish saying his phone number he was crying so hard...

i was in tears the instant i heard his voice.

i was in shock

my dad had jut called Kelly's house
i had my dads number
i could finally talk to my dad

about 20 min later
i called him

hello?
- hi, is this Joe?
yes
-hi...this is Missy...

hi sweetheart.

hi Dad

it was nothing but tears, i cant believe this is happening, and i love you so much's for the next hour and a half
we talked about so much
I'm so much like him
it was creepy

he loves me so much
every 10 min or so he would just stop
"i cant believe I'm talking to my daughter right now"
"is this really happening?"
"if i wake up and this is a dream I'm going to die"

to hear someone love you SO much
is the greatest feeling in the world
i haven't cried from being so happy in lord knows how long

i sent him an email with around 20 pics of me

he's never seen me

he has no idea what i look like

i have a whole new family to meet
aunts and uncles
i have a grandmother who's 88 and i thought was dead

this is easily the most glorious day of both mine and my Dads life.

ASR 2007 - San Diego

i know its been a LONG while since i last posted
but this one and the one to follow should be good

so ASR (action sport retail), which is like this huge convention where all the action sport companies come and showcase their stuff for retailers to check out and order for their shops.
mainly only manufacturers and retailers get to go
but i know some people
so i got to go with DVS and Matix
which was pretty nice.

my friend JJ is the one who got me on the list, drove down from CO. so i drove down friday night and met up with him and his buddy Ryan at the DVS photo show
got some shirts and hung out
then we headed to a theater called Sparkles? i think?

it was showing some videos - we made it in time to see this Australian surfing gang documentary called Bra Boys - pretty interesting check it

then i think we just ended up wondering around going place to place till 4am then JJ and i ended up sleeping in my car. not the best sleep i've had.

Saturday - i woke up and headed down to the convention center and JJ introduced me to some of his friends from CO
really cool guys (ended up hangin out with them more than JJ)
they have this company called Sansusa, and what they do is they do custom skateboard graphics for companies. say you have a shop and you want a shop deck
send'em your graphics and they put them on a board for ya. they also do some clothing and denim work - peep it

so moose, Travis, Sean, and i ended up all hanging out that night. went to a "lounge" and then kind of got over walking around haha so they invited me to stay with them at the condo they rented in Ocean Beach that was a block away from the water. i accepted.

Sunday - we woke up and headed down to there booth wasnt a lot of action goin on the last day
so we just kinda hung out and what not. but by this time i'd already gone to most of the vendors i was interested in and stocked up on shwag.(i had so much from saturday) so i just meandered and got whatever i could which turned out to be a lot especially from the volcom booth haha. i think like 3 shirts 4 pairs of panties videos cds posters pins like EVERYTHING.
it was pretty rad
then i found an old buddy,Mike, that i knew from Big Bear who at the time repp'd for Nitro who now was workin for Skullcandy. so he hooked me up with a couple sets of headphones - i was stoked.
best part of my day though, by far one of the best days of my life, while i was heading over to the Skullcandy booth i just happen to run into Tara Dakides AKA my snowboarding Idol - so i asked her for a pic, had a small but i would say Good conversation about Mammoth and whatnot then i left to go freak out about what i had just accomplished.
SO STOKED
to say the least.

aftr calming down i went wround and checked everything out s'more. ended up playing on the indo boards for a while and then buying one for $50 - deal of the year for sure

after that i helped tear down the booth with the guys
said goodbye to JJ-i'd see him next weekend at HD&HR at Bear - and then headed back to the condo.

we went to the beach played in the water then came back to the condo showered, watched the sunset on the roof, and then went to this little mexican joint and had some goood carne asada burrito's.

walked around a little bit then went back to the condo and hung out.
one of the other guy, Ryan, had a friend from AK come and stay with us that night. Patrick, he was really cool.
i'll prolly end up in AK sometime to hang out with him at his shop.

i ended up staying sunday night again and leaving Monday morning.
i had a blast
i cant wait till january to go again in Las Vegas - should be even better since i'll be 21 and allowed to go to ALL the after Parties

oh haha and the one other AWESOME thing

Portland/Mt. Hood, OR

so before leaving Seattle for good i figured i hve one last run for fun and go hit up Mt. Hood, OR for some summr sessions.
trip agenda:
greyhound to portland
get picked up by friend kyle
go to hood
ride
ride
ride
bus to portland
fly home

what actualy happened...

GHETTO greyhound to portland-i was partially scard for my life
kyle arrives on a bike
(keep in mind i have all my gear and some clothes)
so we take a cab to his friends house and we stay there for the night
next morning (monday) kyle informs me him and his buddy Chris have to go to court at 11 for a some drunken incident
im cool with it i still have tuesday and wednesday to ride
so we spend all day in portland
(and there was some wierd some in ortland - big surprise, right?) and then catch a bus to a bus to the train to another bus to kyles house
we lucked out and it only cost us 5 bucks to get from portland to mt.hood - awesome.

half a bottle of jack and two night trains later the four of us(Chris-roomie,Khia-roomie gf, Matt-roomie lil bro, ad myself) are all in a bubble bath - with suits.
boys being drunk decide to drop trou. so khai and i are sitting in a tub with 2 naked boys - then kyle comes in decides he needs to shae a lil somethin with us involving his...tercer testículo...proving once and for all he was more man than ANYONE he was to face in the Mountain Boarding US Championships in Aspen, CO next week. Then he stripped down and joined in for a little while then proceeded to get out and passout on the couch.

the main event of this evening was the tale of Chris missing 3 days of work - no call no show - so go ride and shoot with the guys...he'd been working on a pretty legit mugshot of a friend and editing his face on there. he was just gonna go in say he' been arrested and thats why he hadnt been in - prtty good eh? i thought so. and with his skill in PS i was sure it was good as done....but Chris needed to make sure he didnt lose his job. So after about 20-30 min of Matt punching his brother int he face and Chris begging me to punch him in the face Matt finally busted Chris's cheek open pretty good...

so kyle and i had planned to go riding wednesday but woke up to rain and alot of it
so much the mtn didnt even open
which sucked

so i ended up only riding one day and headed down to portland early just for the sake of not haveing to wake up super early to catch my flight home.
so we tracked it back down to portland and hung out with Kyles friend Kyle (who for less confussion we'll call KV) who lived down in P-Town and roomed with a guy named Steve - pretty sure he rides for Rome. since he was pretty not happy that i was wearing a Burton beanie and had a Burton board and boardbag in his house...so he gav me a new NEFF beanie.

long story short becuase im kind of over typing right now -
Kyle ended up leaving and meandring the streets

no one slept we stayed up until steve took me to the airport at 7 that morning to catch my 8:15 flight back home.
they were bummed
and so was i
they got kisses goodbye and a spooning fiesta like i had planned much earlier in the day.

in conclusion
this trip was slightly epic.

BYERLY TOE JAM

So Jamie had called me up and said, " hey lets go camping and then go to the Byerly Toe Jam. Scott (Byerly) will be there and he said he wants me to come and chill."

one of my main reasons that i started working at Hyperlite was to meet the pros such as Byerly.

so we packed her car and headed down to bumfuck nowhere.

it took us 3hrs to get there - normally shouldve taken an hour-hour and half at most but there was a ton of traffic. s we finally get there and its raining - big surprise - we have to pitch our tent in her headlights int he rian while allt he teams and shops chill in thier million dollar RV's
